Pole Expo 2016: Sarah Scott
We met with Sarah Scott, an international pole dance instructor, originally from the UK, at the Pole Expo 2016 in Las Vegas. We chatted about life and pole dance as she was slowly getting ready for a celebration of her birthday (check out the interview to see what she has to say about it because she’s funny as always!).
She won the Miss Pole Dance UK in 2012, she was the Brit Idol finalist, recently won the Professional Drama category at Pole Theatre UK and has been doing pole dance for over seven years now, so she’s a professional without any doubt. You can see Sarah loves being an instructor and passing her knowledge to other people, as she herself says “I love it because it gives me the chance to use the struggles I went through when I was learning to help others master the tricks and moves faster”.
Talking about struggles, can you guess what move took her the longest to master? In an interview with PoleFreaks, she admits it was the knee hook spin. Three words that sum up the experience? “Beginner. Terrible. Nightmare move.” says Sarah. Well, she for sure mastered that one (and many more) so if that isn’t an inspiration, we don’t know what is.
PoleFreaks also asked her about her average training week, which she says varies quite a lot depending on how much she has to travel that week and things like that, but she always tries to fit in a couple of pole sessions and one or two gym sessions in. “The pole sessions can range between one and three hours and sometimes just fifteen seconds for Instagram, haha. Just kidding, I don’t do that ;)”. If you add the fact that she has quite a few workshops and classes, it sounds like a very busy schedule to us.
If you want to meet Sarah (and we highly recommend it, she’s awesome), you can visit her gym studio in Taunton, Sommerset, where she teaches, or check out her website to see where in the world you can visit her workshop.
Oh, and don’t forget to follow her, you’ll find her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as Sarah Scott Pole.
