World Pole Sports Championships 2016 London
Last weekend the World Pole Sports Championships took place in London. And we were there to witness the performances of the best pole dancers in the world, which was an amazing show as always.
If you’re not quite sure how pole dancers qualify for this event, let me give you a brief overview. There were over 20 IPSF (International Pole Sports Federation) national and open championships across the world from October 2015 onwards and only the best athletes who achieved a 20 point minimum qualified for the preliminaries. Only the best ones then got a chance to compete in the finals in London. Pretty tough, right? So you can imagine that those in London have to have amazing pole dance skills.
Now let’s talk about the event. Because Dragonfly had a stand with pole dancing clothes there at the event, we had to drive there which meant the journey started on Thursday. On Friday we were already in London, working on putting the stand together and getting excited about the championships. Saturday and Sunday were all about amazing performances from early morning till the evening.
We were really happy we could be a part of this event, it was great to see all the competing athletes, the atmosphere was awesome and we had a really great weekend.
Last but not least, congratulations to everyone who competed – the performances were incredible, and to the winners of course!
